Another set for the Steven Universe prints completed last night.
I think for mood and lighting, this one is my favorite of the characters I drew from Steven Universe. I’m pretty proud of the lighting. In the past I always had issues with doing a direct below type of lighting, but I think with this image, I got a better understanding for it. This also is also one of my favorite backgrounds for the set, probably because it’s simple, hehe.
Pearl is another character I love from the Steven Universe pilot, just because I love the mix of elegance, simplicity and slight tomboy touch she has. I also love her outfit, it’s very Victorian. Also love her hair. You don’t often think short hair can be elegant, but with this design, it fits perfectly.

I personally don't like this design. It makes Pearl look like a male. I don't usually have anything against women who look like men, but Pearl has always come off to me as the most traditionally feminine of The Crystal Gems (unless you count Rose Quartz who is dead).
